TRIBUTE TO A MASTER PROJECT

 

The purpose of this project was to take a known image, and through lighting and graphic treatment reproduce the image.

Poltergeist is a 1982 American supernatural horror/thriller film, directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written and produced by Steven Spielberg. Director of photography was Matthew F. Leonetti, whose previous works include The Butterfly Effect (2004), Dawn of the Dead (2004) and 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003). The image being paid tribute to is the shot of child actress Heather O’Rourke in the classic scene from the movie with
her back to camera in front of a white noise filled television set. This shot is considered a seminal horror movie image.
